Watch List: Octavius Womack - Superstar
It was a coincidence that led Tennessee-native Octavius Womack to move to California, enroll in a performing arts college, tour the world, and then this year participate in America's Got Talent. In 2003, Womack was playing college football in Tennessee when the Young Americans performance group, a California based organization, came to his college to give a workshop. Required to attend, he auditioned and was accepted into the group, soon moving to California to enroll at the Young Americans College of the Performing Arts, and subsequently traveled the world performing with the Young Americans. Here, courtesy of SteamyInTheCity, he pays soulful homage to the Luther Vandross version of 'Superstar', a song that was originally called 'Groupie', and written in 1969 by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell.
