Watch List: Minh - Irony
Originally from Vietnam, Minh is a singer/songwriter/producer who began writing poems at age 9 and songs by the age of 13. Having immigrated to the U.S., hearing the Michael Jackson album 'Off The Wall' motivated Minh to want 'to become a singer', and he pursued this dream by continuing his songwriting, entering and winning a series of talent contests and by becoming involved in the church, where joining the gospel choir and starting a music group laid the foundation for his soul influenced sound. After a trial and error period of finding his way as an artist, he decided to 'be original and no longer follow trends in music. I wanted to create music that is timeless and be a career artist as opposed to just being a pop artist.' Continuing to perform live, he also self-produced and released a number of albums, including 'Life.Love.Soul' (2006), 'Layers' (2010) and 'The Shape Of You' (2011), gaining attention that has seen him open for the likes of Frankie Beverly, The Isley Brothers and Erykah Badu. Here he sings his song 'Irony', and, below, is the lyric video for his song 'We're All We've Got'.
