Angel Haze's Star Shines Bright At First SOBs Headlining Show
Universal/Republic Records' newest artist Angel Haze treated her fans to a stellar show at SOBs Wednesday night (August 29th) as headliner of HOT 97's "Who's Next" showcase. Decked out in all black and tons of gold jewelry, Haze outshone the accessories with her stage presence and wasn't afraid to let the audience know how she likes her live shows: ratchet. If anyone couldn't appreciate that, "there's the door and I'm serious", she told everyone before continuing on.
With a show complete with intricate lighting and visuals splayed on a screen behind her, Haze was one with her mic as she went through material from her EP "Voice" and her critically acclaimed mixtape "Reservation" including "Realest", the Aaliyah-sampled "Hot Like Fire", her take on Drake's "Look What You've Done", and "Werkin' Girls" - fans got the chance to act as back-up dancers while Haze continued to dazzle the venue packed with industry figures and music lovers alike.
An advocate for dreamers, Haze's performance of "Starry Eyed" was dedicated to just that and the night was capped off with a house-rocking rendition of her buzz single, "New York". Angel Haze's knack for storytelling and no holds barred approach to rhyming makes her a unique star in the female hip hop genre who shines brightly among her competition. She will be one to watch this year, so keep your ears ready and your mind open - you won't regret it.
