Watch List: Trixie Whitley - Breathe You In My Dreams

Trixie Whitley, a singer, song writer and multi-instrumentalist, was born in Belgium as the daughter of American singer/songwriter Chris Whitley. Growing up between Belgium and the U.S., the influence of a family in the arts saw her playing the drums at age 10; touring Europe with theater companies by age 11; at 14 performing as a dancer, singer and musician with the acclaimed dance company 'Les Ballets C de la B'; and deejaying at venues across Europe. At age 17, she returned to New York, taught herself guitar and piano, recorded an EP and was invited to the Montreal Jazz Festival. In 2008, producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan) invited Trixie to the Berklee School of Music, where he was in residence, and a recording of their collaboration of the song 'I'd Rather Go Blind' gained people's attention, with Trixie subsequently joining Lanois, Brian Blade and Daryl Johnson in the band Black Dub. She both toured and recorded with Black Dub, the album Black Dub was released in 2010, as well as releasing two EP's of her own, 'Engine' and 'Live At Rockwood Music Hall', and is currently finalizing her debut album 'Fourth Corner' for its late January release. Here she sings 'Breathe You In My Dreams' from the album, and, below, is her with Black Dub performing 'Surely'.
