It is not often that the term 'precocious' is truly appropriate to apply to a young artist, but, when we came across 17-year-old Israeli singer/songwriter/pianist Tamir Grinberg, we were in little doubt that it was, in fact, a most apt description. With a vocal maturity that belies his age, his voice has been described as 'a voice that exceeds any realm of expectation', he uses this voice in conjunction with his backing band to perform and arrange songs that 'presents a very dynamic sound for the listener', with the inspiration he finds in the blues being combined with funk, soul, rock and R&B to give him his signature sound. A graduate of the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts in Tel Aviv, he formed his band, The Tamir Grinberg Band, in his early teens, and they have played in events such as the Red Sea Jazz Festival and Israeli Independence Day celebrations. Here Tamir demonstrates his incredible vocals along with the band as they perform the original songs 'I Was Made To Love Her' and 'Telephone Blues', and, below, they are performing a cover of 'Try a Little Tenderness' by Otis Redding.
