X Factor Week 7: Top 16 Revealed
After weeks of auditions, emotional breakdowns, and some major vocal battles, the coveted top 16 has been revealed on "X Factor USA." In case you haven't been keeping up with the show, this is the perfect time to catch up as these sixteen will be heading straight to the anticipated live shows. There they will compete for our votes with the help of their judges/mentors and hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian-Odom.
So who made the top 16 ? Let's start with L.A. Reid's "Over 25" group. Weeding out a few picks with the help of Justin Bieber, L.A. Reid will move forward with professed urban rock artist David Correy, "flamboyant at its finest" (L.A. Reid said it...) singer Jason Brock, Vino Alan and Country singer Tate Stevens.
Following Reid, Britney Spears had a tough time sifting through her pack of teens, but it seems she made the right choices with her four being Diamond White, Beatrice Miller, Carly Rose Sonenclar (not Carly Rae. I have this temptation to say Carly Rae, like Jepsen), and possible R&B heartthrob Arin Ray.
Demi Lovato made solid choices like Britney, although Demi was a lot harder to read as she broke down the best and worst. Following a few tears and warnings, Demi named Paige Thomas, CeCe Frey, Jennel Garcia and Country singer Willie Jones her final four. It should be noted that she called most of them out on issues like attitude (CeCe) and consistency (Paige and Willie) that could lead them to be eliminated by us viewers going forward.
Last but not least, Simon made his choices in the group category, which in my opinion, is way stronger than expected. With the picks he made, I think there might be a group that makes it to top 5 or wins the whole thing. Out of the four, Simon kept two original groups. Those were Country trio Sister C and boy band Emblem3. He then picked two groups formed at boot camp. Those were Hip Hop group Lyric 145 (which reminds me of the Fugees) and girl group The Lylas. Of those four, the latter two, formed at boot camp, were actually the strongest of the bunch. If they stick together, sans past "put together" groups, they could do very well.
