There is no doubt that women in music are thriving more than ever before. I mean, who doesn't find pleasure in a woman's powerful soul? A woman's sexy, soothing voice? Power moves are being made, and our eyes (and ears) are wide open, always searching for the sounds that deserve recognition and praise. 2015 was a great year to scout for new talents, and 2016 should be even better. Here is our list of women to watch over the next year. And take our word for it, these chicks are changing the game. Don't say we didn't warn you!
Ngaiire has already had a career up-coming artists dream of. A background singer for Blue King Brown, Paul Mac and Chet Faker, a vocalist on tracks by the Tongue, Thundamentals, Jordan Rakei and more, and playing at the Gastonbury Festival with Alicia Keys and John Legend, she has steadily been making her imprint on the music scene. After doing a stint at the Conservatorium of Music and competing on Australian Idol, Ngaiire has found a sound and style that fits her – like on her recent single “Once” which displayed her sultry singing on a minimalist, yet pulsing beat. With all that she’s accomplished thus far, our ears are open for her second albums release Balstoma in early 2016.
