Watch List: WNDKR Finds Himself 'Nobody's Home'
Embracing a sound that organically integrates the churning swagger of rock's restless energy with the musing, soulful emotion of an acoustic singer/songwriter with electronic undertones, Polish singer/songwriter/producer WNDKR (Michał Wendeker) inhabits a creative space that sees him traverse a musical landscape populated by the likes of John Mayer, James Blake and The Black Keys, the subtle rasp of his voice, whether gently confessional or yearningly urgent, channeling a passionate intensity that sees his heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism weighed equally with emotive introspection and a mellow, assured self-possession.
Here joined by Maciek Tokarski on bass and Michał Stawarz on drums as he gives a live in-studio performance of the gathering, percussive pulse and reflective guitar of his song 'Nobody's Home' in Warsaw, WNDKR, from Lublin, released his first EP, 'True', in 2012, and followed with the 'Underdog' EP last year, which he supported with a tour of Poland. Having been a finalist in the Hard Rock Rising 2013 and played in support of Anna Calvi, as well as playing live on Polish T.V. and receiving radio airplay, he is currently in the process of recording an album for release next year.
