Watch List: Trampled Under Foot - Goodbye (Live)
Trampled Under Foot, a family band consisting of Danielle, Kris and Nick Schnebelen, embodies the best traditions of blues and soul, with the siblings having grown up with their parents playing in bands on the Kansas City blues scene. As children, they absorbed a broad range of influences from their parents record collection, from blues to rock, and here they demonstrate their authentic and unfiltered musical sensibility with a live performance of 'Goodbye', singer and bassist Danielle wearing her heart on her sleeve with an effortlessly arresting, and rawly sensitive, straight-from-the-gut vocal performance as she comes to terms with a lost love.
Steeped in the blues,'I gravitate towards it because it's based on emotion, it's based on reality; it's based on not just pain and suffering, but joy, and it's raw and you can't fake it' says Danielle, the siblings began their musical careers separately, playing in series of bands before deciding to from a band of their own, Trampled Under Foot, spending time after its formation honing their respective skills and playing an ever increasing number of live shows. With an ever growing fan base won over by their raw authenticity and Danielle's stellar vocals, renowned keyboardist Mike Finnegan (Etta James, Jimi Hendrix, Bonnie Raitt) says 'I think she's a fantastic singer...I worked with Etta James, so I know something about great women singers, and Danielle is a great female vocalist', the band has gathered numerous awards in blues music circles, including being the 2008 International Blues Challenge winner.
Their non-stop touring, growing fanbase and studio releases including 'May I Be Excused' (2008) and 'Wrong Side Of The Blues' (2011) saw them this year catch the attention of jazz and blues label Telarc International, who signed them and released their most recent album 'Badlands', which debuted at #1 on the Billboard, iTunes and Amazon Blues Charts.
