Watch List: Tamir Grinberg Was 'Made To Love Her'
When we came across Tamir Grinberg a few years ago, it was quickly apparent that the Israeli teenager possessed a talent of the utmost precocity. Schooled in the arts and conjuring his own instinctively honed blend of jazz, r&b and soul, what really riveted our attention was his positively startling vocal: belying the fresh-faced appeal of his cheery charisma, the gritty resonance, sonorous gravitas and richly mature poise of his preternaturally wondrous voice proved to be most remarkable indeed.
A potent combination of raw, urgently soulful power and subtle, tender phrasing that could seemingly be spawned just as easily from the Mississippi Delta as it is from cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, it was quickly obvious that Grinberg's voice was truly a one-of-a-kind marvel. Gathering an eight-piece band as he has made a name for himself in Israel, Grinberg has also gone on to find himself being invited to open for Dionne Warwick and to take to the stage at festivals in places such as Bratislava, Slovakia - along with John Newman and Lulu James - and Kaunas, Lithuania as he looks to take his voice to the world. Here giving a live rendition at Kaunas Jazz 2015 of the song that first alerted us to his incredible talent, Grinberg again reminds just why he stopped us in our tracks in the first place.
