Watch List Select: Mara Hruby, Tess Henley, Noah

At TheNext2Shine we are passionate about discovering new artists to share with our readers, and we are always looking and listening out for emerging artists that bring their own authenticity, originality and talent to the music scene. Here in our 'Watch List Select' feature we provide for your listening pleasure a selection of artists that have caught our attention with their own unique musical offerings.

Gathering the confidence to begin singing after graduating high school, Mara Hruby quickly captivated on her debut EP, 'From Her Eyes', with her sensitive, delicately beautiful voice, and she is set to further excite fans with the release of her upcoming  project 'Archaic Rapture', 'a really emotional project for me', consisting of an original song plus jazz standards that Hruby says she used as a way to deal with heartbreak, 'it was my grieving process...choosing the songs that I'm doing on this project, was my way of coping with reality', and, as she looks forward to completing an original album, she recently stopped by the Billboard Live studios for an interview and performance, which included her moving rendition of Van Hunt's 'Character'.

Classically trained Seattle singer/songwriter Tess Henley has followed a determinedly independent path as she has built her highly regarded reputation, which is reflected in her having won numerous songwriting competitions and also attracting the help and support of The Roots Dice Raw and Grammy-nominated producer Khari Mateen on her 2013 'High Heels & Sneakers' album, most recently being named as finalist by the legendary Don Was in the Guitar Center's Singer-Songwriter competition. Having charmed an invite-only audience of music industry insiders at our January Pre-Grammy 'Champagne Room' showcase in L.A., Henley recently released a touching live piano-and-vocal performance of her song 'Flicker Of A Flame'.

The beautifully complementary vocal tones of U.K. folk/pop duo NOAH, Joe Baxter and Rebeka Prance, first caught our attention back in 2012, their intuitively cohesive sensibilities and effortlessly shared musicality making for sublimely soothing listening, and in the time since they have begun to catch on at home; playing their first headline show; gaining airplay on the BBC; appearing at SoulLive; supporting rising U.K. artists Chloe Howl and Jake Issac. As they finish up their debut EP, they kicked off 2014 by dropping by Soul Features to give a compellingly beautiful acoustic version of their song 'David'.
