Watch List: Marley Munroe Shines While 'Staring At The Sun'
Imbued with a soulful, rasp-flecked vocal grandeur that channels an emotionally resonant gravitas into the raw, passionate intensity of her articulate, from-the-gut delivery, Los Angeles based singer and BMG/Chrysalis songwriter Marley Munroe's artistic sensibility is grounded in an unabashed authenticity that is as impressive in its integrity as it is in its versatility, with Munroe saying 'my sound marries the different parts of who I am. I love bands like MUSE and Keane, but I also listen to Billie Holiday and Donny Hathaway every day. My music brings those loves together. I don't want to be straight-up any one thing because I have so many different influences. I also love Coldplay and U2. I love big, epic, stadium songs. But I don't know how to do pop without the soul'.
Here showcasing her abilities with an acoustic rendition of her song 'Staring At the Sun' that, along with 'I Don't Want To Be The One', appeared on Anastacia's recent comeback album, Munroe's songwriting ability has seen her work with some of the most respected songwriter's in the business, including Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Justin Gray, Rob Kleiner, Mateo Laboriel, The Monsters, Chris Braide, Trevor Lawrence, London Police, The Heavyweights and Chris Seefried.
Having received airplay for her song 'Boomerang', Munroe has graced the stage with her outstanding vocals and charisma at prestigious venues in New York and Los Angeles, including Rockwood Music Hall, The Mint, Hotel Cafe and Ghengis Cohen, with a recent main stage performance at the L.A. Pride Festival, and is currently in the process of working on her own material for an upcoming EP.
