Watch List: Lose Yourself In Jarrod Lawson's 'Soul Symphony'
You could be forgiven for thinking that Portland based soul/jazz singer/songwriter Jarrod Lawson may have become somewhat accustomed to being showered with praise given the intensity of his experience from a breakthrough 2014, yet, awash with accolades from fans and critics alike, Lawson still finds a genuine excitement in hearing that his music has touched people. Most recently enjoying the praises of the one and only Anthony Hamilton, last year was one to remember for Lawson as he firmly established himself in people's minds as one of the most promising soul men to arrive in recent years with his debut album - receiving universal praise for his socially and emotionally conscious songwriting, sensitively beautiful voice and supremely soulful musical sensibility, 2014 saw him, amongst other things, give a live streamed performance from the legendary Ronnie Scott's in London; win various 'Soul Album of The Year' awards; tour in Europe and the U.S.; play live on Gilles Peterson's BBC radio show and record at the BBC's famous Maida Vale studios; reach #1 on the Amazon Neo-Soul and Soul-Jazz chart.

Pretty good as breakthrough years go then for Lawson who grew up exploring his father’s recording studio in Redwood City, California, later losing himself in the family record collection as he discovered the guiding lights of his musical development, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. Passionate about the piano from the age of thirteen, Lawson went on to join his college music program and sing in the Chamber Choir while also performing in the college jazz ensemble, honing the kind of sophisticated, mature and effortlessly inviting talent that so captivates people today.
Looking forward to a 2015 that includes appearing in Japan, Germany, the U.K. and the U.S., Lawson is set for the release of his first vinyl album, 'Jarrod Lawson At The BBC' in March.
