Watch List: Jacob McCaslin Is Faced With A 'Crossroads To Nowhere'
Upon listening to talented Seattle singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Jacob McCaslin, it soon becomes obvious that his effortlessly instinctive musicality channels the bluesy, natural soulfulness of influences such as John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, with fluent, self-taught guitar playing and smoothly articulate vocals underpinning his award-winning songwriting, here in evidence as he sets to work on a loop pedal for an impressive live rendition of 'Crossroads to Nowhere' at Berklee College Of Music.
Growing up with a love for classic soul and blues music, McCaslin's precocious musical talents saw him begin to compose and produce his own music from a young age, progressing to the point where his facility with songwriting earned he and his band at the time, Jacob McCaslin & Roll the Credits, top spot in KTUB's One Song One Chance songwriting competition for 2011. Winning studio time, he and the band released their debut EP, 'Walk A Mile' in 2012, and followed up with a summer tour in and around the Seattle area. Going on to release 'Cautionary Tales' with the band in 2013, McCaslin also personally received a songwriting scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he is currently studying, and hopes with his music to bring back soul and blues to the music industry.
