Watch List: Fall For The Sensation of Sinead Harnett
If you haven’t heard of Sinead Harnett, you’re in for a treat.
Her newest self-titled EP is a sultry, sensual mix of dazzling vocals and alternative R&B. The four featured songs on the release prove that the artist can do it all, from an upbeat and energetic melody that makes you want to dance in “Rather be With You,” to a slow and broken down instrumental highlighting her wide vocal range in “If You Let Me,” (featuring GRADES). In “Say What You Mean,” early 2000s R&B meets the modern day. Harnett brings back some serious Destiny’s Child vibes, and does it well.
The star on the rise already has over 15k followers on Spotify and a whopping 115k on SoundCloud. It’s clear that this is only the beginning for the 26 year old. Originally from London, Harnett already has an international reach and has collaborated with Disclosure on the popular song, “Boiling” as well as with Rudimental, in which she contributed songwriting and vocals on their first album, Home. She’s made her solo debut with the song “Got Me,” on Black Butter Records and since has been featured on Billboard, Fader and BBC. In fact, she even made Spotify’s Viral 50 list coming in at number 39. In 2014 Harnett was signed to Virgin EMI Records, but regardless of a label, she claims that maintaining full control of her sound is the most important thing. Harnett says that she draws inspiration from artists such as Lauryn Hill and Whitney Houston, and has been singing since she was seven years old. We can tell.
