Watch List: Fall For The Rise of James Arthur
If you were an avid watcher of The X Factor, you're sure to recognize this voice. If not, we have a treat for you.
James Arthur has had one hell of a journey in his musical career. So what's his story?
The British singer/songwriter began his career with a victory on The X Factor in 2012 after being mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. His win at the show kickstarted what would be creative freedom and dedicated fandom. His debut single came in the form of "Impossible," released through Simon Cowell's label Syco Music and debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in just one week... How is the track doing now? Well, it has gone on to sell over 1,289,000 copies in the UK and 2.5 million copies all over the globe.
He moved on to release a self-titled album in 2013, peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart. After a series of controversy, James left Syco Music, yet this was a blessing in disguise -- What better way to embody your artistry than to take matters into your own hands? In 2015, he signed a new deal with Columbia Records to release his second album in 2016, Back from the Edge... But, Arthur wasn't quite finished with Syco. He was re-signed in 2016.
His current working single is "Say You Won't Let Go," peaking at No. 2 and now currently No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart, continuing to gain plays.
