These Your Children Enchant With 'FIRES' EP
Emerging from period of creative growth and reassessment in recent months, U.K. indie-folk duo Joe Baxter and Rebeka Prance are back with a new moniker - These Your Children - and new material that builds on the obvious talent that first caught our attention several years ago. Fleshing out the fledgling acoustic/folk core of their earlier creative manifestation, NOAH, the duo's recently released 'FIRES' EP sees the beautifully harmonious blend of their voices finding company among guitars, piano, strings and percussion that in combination makes for enchanting listening.
With emotionally articulate lyrics that are sensitively poised and introspectively poignant in their import, and verses that gently swell into the rousing emotion of emphatically exclaimed choruses, the duo showcase a keenly observed instinct for crafting perfectly balanced songs that are utterly engrossing in their impact. From the confusing intoxication and giddy temptation of 'Fires' through to 'Set A Fires' estrangement and angry, bruised emotion; and from the familial angst of 'David' to the redemptive crucible of 'Stronger's test of character, These Your Children have made a triumphant return with 'Fires' as they showcase a captivating talent that deserves nothing less than the listener's full attention.
