'Smoke By Day' With The Eclectically Inspired Real Don Music
While making his mark on the Seattle music scene with noted bands Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Gatsbys American Dream and Wild Orchid Children, Kirk Huffman hankered for an outlet that would channel his creative instincts for sample-based, DJ and hip hop inspired production techniques. Taking the guise of Real Don Music, he has satisfied that desire by spending 'a rejuvenating twenty months' working on his 'Dank Sinatra' EP, folding his smooth-crooning vocal swagger into the confident strut of thick basslines and deep grooves that are crowned with vibrant, punchy horn swells and synth motifs.
Looking to create self-described 'smooth jams', Huffman has followed up the first Real Don Music release, 'Emeralds And Angels', with Devin Ensz animated visuals for the heavy bassline creep, hypnotic, sultry saxophone, emphatic trumpet and celestial shimmer of the Lord Jamar feat. RZA "Deep Space" sampled 'Smoke By Day' and its esoterically vivid lyricism.
