Smino Travels To The Desert, Plays Billiards On Date In "Anita"
St. Louis rapper Smino has jumped on the scene as of late with his 18-track blckswn released on March 14th of this year. 3 days after the release of the debut Apple named him "New Artist of the Week," marking a strong beginning to the talent's career. On February 8th, however, the second single from the album was released as "Anita" and now we have a new video to go along with it.
Smino takes the viewer and his date, fellow musician Jean Deaux, to a desert scene where the two play pool in a dive bar, go for a drive, and then explore abandoned buildings. Smino knew that he wanted love to be the concept for "Anita" but had Jean Deaux come up with concept. On the storyline, Deaux stated:
"It's about two strangers meeting and having vulnerability, which is really rare to have between two people. I knew he wanted to do something lighthearted, warm, and something that was an example of our adoration for each other. And that was the challenge - us being so close, and then having to go into scenes where we had to act like we didn't know each other."
