Seinabo Sey Announces Debut Album 'Pretend'
Set to release October 23, Swedish soul singer Seinabo Sey has announced her highly anticipated studio record Pretend. The young woman has a history of eclectic sounds, only to follow this reputation with another compilation of intense melodies and stellar instrumentals.
It’s a pop album saturated in soul and full of big melodic songs and forward thinking production (courtesy of Madonna collaborator Magnus Lidehäll) that draws on real, sometimes painfully relatable moments, 'This album is really all about my life,' she explains. 'It's about everything that's happened to me. Listening to it, I've realised that the way I write, I just try and give advice,' she explains. 'There's always some kind of moral story at the end of every song, so it's like advice to myself in a way.'
Undoubtedly, Sey is catapulting through the world of pop music with tasteful, intelligent musicianship. Honest music is hard to come by, yet this record will serve you just that. Check out the video for Younger following the track list below and keep your eyes and ears open for Pretend, to be unveiled late next month. This is sure to be something special.
