PREMIERE: Old School meets NuSoul in SAD x Slum Village "SLOW Remixed" Compilation
What's better than having more than one version of a track you love?
Overlapping producers can be a really beautiful thing, and today we're proving just that. Following the release of "SLOW" earlier this month, the collaboration between Bernese producer SAD and legendary (Dilla-less) Slum Village yielded a compelling Nu-Soul anthem -- and we're here to tell you it isn't over!
We're pleased to premiere SLOW Remixed -- a 6-track compilation of reworked tracks by some of today's most buzz-worthy producers. The vibes will pull at your heart strings in all different directions, going from star gazed 90's-reminiscent beats to sultry R&B grooves to retro-tinged psychedelia. Compelling in every sense, the project features the likes of Pablo Nouvelle, Shuko, Filewile, Melodiesinfonie and Ruck N' Wiz, and tops off with an official remix of "SLOW" by SAD and Slum Village themselves. It takes you to from old school to Nu-soul and brings sounds of timeless yet fresh beats. This music is a way of life.
"SLOW is not just the name of the latest release from the Bernese Soul/Hip Hop producer SAD, it's also his music-making methodology and an all around life philosophy. It's a way for the brother to enjoy the ride thoroughly – raising 3 kids, holding down a teaching job, and keeping his Souldogs band inspired and sharp, and the beats coming. SLOW is the only option for this brother, and it's also his natural stride."
SLOW Remixed is released via Mouthwatering Records and will officially be out this Friday, 3/18.
