Music Video: Overcoats - Little Memory
With the haunting, spectral beauty of their diaphanous harmonies set aswirl by an ethereal, knowing poignance, New York-based duo Overcoats, Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell, appeared as if by magic earlier in the year to cast their enchanting spell. Floating with a gossamer-like sensitivity, the effortlessly complementary nature of their voices had us in the thrall of their tales of confused emotion and heart-weary realizations. Returning with their debut video for 'Little Memory''s evocation of bitter-sweet memories, the duo find themselves absorbed in the dreamy, surrealist vision of director Raphael Linden. Featuring a banquet caught in suspended animation, break-dancing and the Overcoats set in portrait-like repose, Elion and Mitchell say 'we fell in love with the concept - we felt that the dreaminess and mystery of the video really fit with the song. The whole thing was filmed in slow motion. It was such a joy to make - we did it in the middle of the night'.
Following the release of their 'Overcoats' EP, the duo have made their way to Europe for the summer to tour - they just played the Longitude Festival - and work on new music.
