Music Video: LOUS - Knock Knock Knock
'A bit of everything'; such is the way that intriguing Belgium-based Congolese singer LOUS describes her idiosyncratically arresting musical sensibility. An eclectically inspired amalgam of alt-r'n'b/hip-hop/soul that is variously dreamy, haunting, introspective, poignant and swaggering, she has in recent months been in the process of releasing her three EP opus: 'Arrival', 'Hokkaido' and 'Departure'. Amongst the distorted, glitchy motifs, lush synth shimmers, murmuring basslines and often spectral background vocals, LOUS' voice wends its way with a knowing, reflectively emotive maturity that can just as easily be all raspy drawl as it can be sultry swagger. Having released the final EP in the triumvirate, 'Departure', LOUS has also provided striking black-and-white visuals for the N.CUT-produced opening track, 'Knock Knock Knock', the glitchy, visually compelling edit artfully complementing the refreshing eccentricity of the track.
