Music Video: Keanna O'Quinn - Foo Wop
Keanna O'Quinn is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, now residing in New York, who says 'I love performing', and the satisfaction she gets when people enjoy her performances is 'exactly what I want my music to do, create a soulful experience for people'. Raised on Chicago's West Side, her gospel roots are combined with influences such as Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker and Patti LaBelle, with Keanna saying 'I want to bring back the classic elements of rhythm and blues, making music that moves people, music that means something. People still want to hear songs that make them fall in love or songs about pain they thought no one else could understand'. She was a participant in American Idol Season 9, making it to the final 70, and she says 'knowing that I was able to go and audition in front of the toughest judges in the country to make it to the Top 70 has given me so much confidence...it taught me to conquer my fears...'. As well as performing regularly across New York, including at venues like the Apollo Theater and Village Underground, she continues to work on her own music, and here she is singing her song 'Foo Wop'.
