Music Video: June Freedom - Warhol
A native of Cape Verde, when faced with the challenges of making the transition to life in Boston, the now New York domiciled June Freedom found a refuge and comfort in singing. Imbued with a free-spirited creativity, he found an immediacy and freedom in singing that took him 'back to that place when I was a kid -running on the beach; racing horses; surfing with my cousins - with no pressures, no judgement; you did what you want, how you wanted it. When I create, whether it be through music, art or fashion, I always try to go to that place that resonates best me, that feels natural, fearless; nothing matters but that specific moment to you'.
Releasing his 'Strings On My Guitar' EP through his website earlier in the year, Freedom showcased the both intimate sensitivities of his emotional instincts and the smooth, tender and subtle soul of his voice, which along with his fluency on guitar gives rise to a uniquely compelling artistic sense-of-self. Stemming from his upbringing in the culturally rich and diverse Cape Verde, his affinity for music is something that 'I knew from back in those days of making music from everything and anything that it meant more to me than anyone could ever understand', and here he offers up the music video for the delicate acoustic intricacies and sultry passion of 'Warhol'.
