Music Video: James Fox Higgins - The Maker
James Fox Higgins is an Australian singer/songwriter with a self-described sound that is 'soulful gospel-influenced pop with some funky beats and the occasional pinch of jazz'. A youthful passion for music saw James learn the trumpet and then teach himself to play guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. Influenced by artists such as Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Steely Dan, after leaving school he entered the Queensland Conservatorium to pursue a music degree whilst starting his own label, production company and recording an album with the band Soul Continuum. National and international touring followed, which saw him sharing stages with the likes of Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies and the Sneaky Sound System, and in 2010 his debut EP as "The Quick Brown Fox" sold out at live shows as he toured Australia. In 2011 he decided to perform under his own name, James Fox Higgins, and, after 6 years in the making, he released his debut album 'Man Overboard' in February of this year, and here is the official video for the song 'The Maker', filmed in the Marble Bar at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney.
