Music Video: Francesco Yates - Call
When we first heard the smooth, dulcet vocal tone of Francesco Yates in 2011, it was clear that the young Canadian singer was destined for great things; whether tackling soulful classics or contemporary chart toppers, Yates showcased a vocal versatility that had been honed through years of dedicated training in his pursuit of a musical dream that had been inspired by the likes of 'people like Michael Jackson and Prince, the kind of artist who are just constantly on ten'. His obvious talents where soon noticed by music manager Chris Smith, who without hesitation added Yates to his stable of artists (Nelly Furtado, JoJo, Fefe Dobson, Kat Dahlia), and when Smith introduced Yates to Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman, he was signed within days to the label.
Describing his style as 'mainly pop, but with a certain throwback to the soul stylings that I vibe with the most', Yates has worked with a stellar line up of producers as he has formulated his sound, including Robin Hannibal (Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B), Pharrell Williams (Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake), Jeff Bhasker (Beyonce, Kanye West, Bruno Mars) and Nate 'Danja' Hills (Madonna, Nelly Furtado Pink). Having played shows with the likes of Nelly Furtado and Hot Chelle Rae as he prepares for the release of his debut album, Yates has just released his Justin Timberlake , Jo Jo and Paloma Faith heralded video for the tenderly soul-splashed vocals and pulsing, ear-catching r'n'b/pop of his new, Robin Hannibal-produced, single 'Call'.
