Mayfair Kytes Share Striking Visuals for "Sleepyhead" to Preview Forthcoming Album
Meet Mayfair Kytes -- a four piece musical force hailing from Melbourne, Australia that have created a sound we were simply drawn to. They have an album coming out April 1st, calling it Animus, and it includes the single "Sleepyhead" that originally caught our attention. Most recently, they released a brilliantly creative video to accompany the track (conceptualized, directed and animated by Thomas Russell.)
It is the delightful harmonic textures and compelling sensibility to their art that really comes to fruition through their compositions. Impressive instrumentation and the progressive dynamic within the group defines who Mayfair Kytes really are. The perfect blend of dreamy folk tinges that dip into jazz and experimental rock flavors make up the cocktail that produces their tunes. It's a fresh new sound with classic influence.
Animus was recorded in Melbourne alongside Nick Herrera. To cap off Mayfair Kytes' artistry, the album additionally features strings from Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and hints of production from Hiatus Kaiyote's Simon Mavin (keys) and Paul Bender (bass).
Be sure to look out for the full-length project on April 1st-- for now, enjoy the first taste with "Sleepyhead" and catch the pre-order March 18.
