Manatee Commune Has You Frozen in Time With New Visuals for "Clay"
This week Manatee Commune - the bedroom electronic project of Bellingham native Grant Eadie - drops his newest video for "Clay" featuring Marina Price (one of Next2Shine’s favorite tracks from his recently released EP, Thistle).
Eadie’s joyful, upbeat sound is now paired with an equally quirky and colorful music video which narrates the story of a young woman trying everything possible to "de-freeze" her boyfriend. The visual to the track portrays the woman’s frantic attempt to thaw out her lover by sticking him in the oven, dragging his stiff body through town (to the shock and amusement of passers-by), trying to chisel the ice off and even (bizarrely) putting him in the washing machine. Ultimately, she passionately kisses him, the two becoming frozen in time together.
Eadie’s label, Bastard Jazz, describes his sound perfectly, writing that; "combining textures of the rainy woods and the windy seas of the Pacific Northwest with the calming mood of clean surfy guitar licks and rolling arpeggiated sine waves, Manatee Commune seeks to capture the atmosphere of taking a thoughtful, self-reflecting stroll through the forest."
The video was directed by Matt Morgan and Eno Freedman Brodmann, with production by NYC’s Yacht Club Films. If you fancy a night of perky electro beats, check out Manatee Commune’s west-coast dates below:
