Listen to R&B Singer Preston Harris' 'Love Crazy' EP
Preston Harris can be best described as the light to The Weeknd's dark. Or the ear candy to Frank Ocean's lyrical food for thought.Hit-Boy brought in Preston Harris to HS87 after hearing him sing, envisioning the lane that he can solely occupy.
With his own brilliance intertwined with Hit-Boy's proven sound, you will find his music is ornate yet full of substance. Complex in it's arrangement, yet simple in its delivery. His first offering of music to the universe is his Love Crazy EP, that experiments with a cappella sections to electric guitar and piano-driven melodies, showing promise for a diverse full-length project.
"Love Crazy" is an example of a smooth, guitar-laiden tune, that also attests to Preston's lyrical ingenuity. Two tracks later, "Good Morning" will catch you in a groove, force you to nod your head with the bass-heavy chorus, and sing the familiar lyrical samples.
The newcomer managed to wow Billboard.com into an exclusive premiere, saying that his EP is "full of tricky, appealing details." In an interview with The Source, Preston explains that he's not "stealing girls" from other rappers or sleeping around, but instead finding meaning in commitment to one woman - an ideal stated clearly in his music. Preston states, "Women look good, all around the world, but never as good as the one that’s been true to you..."
