Lion Unleashed: Ella Eyre takes over London with tour and debut Feline album
‘The Lion is being unleashed at O2 Shepherd Bush Empire tonight’, Warner tweeted. 20 years old British rising star, Ella Eyre took the stage at the Shepherd Empire for her biggest London headline to date. Expressing her gratitude during her sold out show, she recounted being on the same stage a little over a year ago supporting Bastille.
It’s not the first time, she’s followed in the footsteps of ‘successful’ artists. Earlier in the year, she was named as one of VEVO’s Lift’s artists of 2014, a series that has supported the likes of Sam Smith, Iggy Azealea and Lorde (all of whom have thriving mainstream careers). Eyre is well on her way too. Ella arrives on stage wearing her signature poofy curls (her mane) with a lace cat suit (now you see where the lion reference comes from), while London welcomes her. The energy of the room remains consistent as she belts out song after song. ‘Deeper’, ‘If I Go’ and ‘Waiting All Night’ (the #1 single with DJ ensemble, Rudimental) get an intense response from the room of Eyreheads.
If there were any doubts about Eyre’s potential before the concert, they are dispelled as the stage goes dark. Eyre has a voice to champion an incredible career -now it’s only a matter of time. Her debut album, Feline she promises “is coming early next year” and if the night is anything to go by, it will be full of personal stories, energy and many lessons. We are definitely looking forward to her debut.
