Leigh Bush Has Arrived, Releases "The Leigh Bush Project" & hits Top 10 on iTunes
The music industry and fans alike has witnessed R&B singer Sammie evolve in every sense of the word; from the time we were first introduced to him in 1997 with his debut - and later number one - single "I Like It" to his hook work on the soundtrack to 2001's "Hardball" to a reemergence in 2006 with a self-titled album that includes favorites among fans still today, "Come With Me" and "Slow".
Mixtapes, EPs, and an upcoming book later, he's ready for the next phase in his development as an artist and a man. The R&B renaissance man is now Leigh Bush and he's barreling out onto the scene, music in hand with The Leigh Bush Project. This five-song EP lays the groundwork for the mission StarCamp and Songbook Entertainment has set out to complete independently - to maintain the traditional artistry of the R&B genre by raising the bar.
Armed with a set of golden pipes and an imaginary cape, Leigh Bush proves to be more than capable of honoring those who came before him while setting an example for who will come after him in this auditory delight. His knack for addressing alternate views to scenarios most R&B singers would glorify is evident from the opening intro/track, "Ms. Bartender" and "Dancer". Leigh Bush wants to take care of your mind as well as your heart because he cares, and he does a fantastic job of making sure you feel his sentiment with each run.
Shifting gears to love as it stands, "Passionately" is a mid-tempo serenade where Leigh Bush urges you to allow him the honor of loving you with all he has as he proclaims that he "was made to love you, passionately". The instant fan favorite and closing track, "Free Falling," stemmed from a conversation the twenty-six year old had with a friend who felt put off by a developing relationship but was ready and willing to take a chance at love. The music composition alone is captivating and accurately pinpoints the feelings of doubt and hopefulness, which Leigh sells impeccably well. Channeling an emotion that many can relate to, it's plain to see how the response has been so profound thus far.
The Leigh Bush Project is a perfect introduction to a new phase in an artist's quest to be heard and respected by his fans and peers; fresh off of a successful performance at SOBs' Sol Village on October 16th, it is safe to say that Leigh Bush is free falling into a music world full of possibilities - no parachute required.
