'Kill Me First' Say Go Go Berlin
Proving that the urge to plug an electric guitar into an amp still resides in many a heart around the world, Danish band Go Go Berlin caught our attention last year with the energy and zest of their unashamed passion for rock'n'roll. Drawing inspiration from both classic 60's and 70's rock and contemporary indie bands, the five piece have since their 2010 founding gone onto become fan favorites in the home country - their 2013 debut album 'New Gold' stayed in the Top Ten for over a year - while also building an ever growing fanbase across Europe. Having just completed another European go around, and with numerous festivals filling up their immediate schedule, the five-piece - Christian Vium, Mikkel Dyrehave, Anders Søndergaard, Emil Rothmann and Christoffer Østergaard - are back with fresh visuals for the most recent track from last year's 'Electric Lives' album. Cutting between the hazy lighting of street-at-night scenes and a room awash in kaleidoscopically spinning patterns, the fuzzy-riff, struttin' drums and 'wah-wah-wah' vocal motif of 'Kill Me First's opening gives way to a punchy, ever-changing interplay of their eclectic sonic inspirations as Vium's grit-flecked vocal goads and urges 'if I'm wasting, what it's worth / do me a favor, and kill me first'.
