Jodie Abacus Is Cooking Up Something Super Funky in "Hot Kitchen"
In case it slipped past you, Jodie Abacus dropped an incredibly hot track last week - "Hot Kitchen" isn't for the faint hearted; prepare to grab your best pair of dancing shoes. The London-based vocalist presents you with one of the most feel-good tracks that the end of the year could possibly conjure up. With both Brainfeeder-reminiscent flavors and a distinct sense of individuality, Jodie conquered this single with flying colors. The anthem-like track will captivate you in more ways than one. His vocals are very clearly pop/R&B inspired with futuristic, intergalactic tinges... And what would a funk track be without a killer bass line? The upright bass is the rhythmic glue to this track, sealing the deal on an absolutely tasty jam.
"Hot Kitchen" explores the concept of a lady making a move on Jodie at a house party, as he explains in an interview. "She called me 'Coca-Cola' before proceeding to invite me upstairs."
Isn't it fascinating how just about anything could inspire such a fantastic musical journey? Check out the track below.
