Jess Glynne and MNEK To Receive ASCAP Vanguard Award
ASCAP, aka the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, has just announced that talents Jess Glynne and MNEK shall be award the ASCAP Vanguard Award at the upcoming 2016 ASCAP Awards, London on November 10th.
Jess Glynne, signed to Atlantic Records, is a English musician who had her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, debut number one on the UK Albums Chart. The album had sales of ~60,000, which was the second fastest-selling debut album of 2015. From the substantial success Glynne was able to tour North America and the UK in support of the release.
MNEK, on the other hand, is a 21 year old Grammy Award-winning writer and producer with writing credits with names such as Bastille, Madonna, Beyoncé, JoJo, Zara Larsson, among many, many others. His own EP Small Talk came through Virgin EMI March 27th, 2015. Most notably though, his track "Never Forget You" with Zara Larsson has been certified Platinum and has been spreading MNEK's name like wildfire.
Past winners include Walk The Moon, fun., Kendrick Lamar, and Calvin Harris.
