Jacquie Lee's "Somebody's Angel" Is Heartbreaking
In June talent Christina Grimmie was tragically killed in a shooting and the music world was left in absolute shock. A friend and co-star on the voice, Jacquie Lee, has now released a new music video for "Somebody's Angel" as a tribute to Grimmie.
The video focuses on tragedies such as the terror attacks in France and personal icons like Prince that have passed within the year. The track is a communal and soulful tune that features a magnitude of layered vocals to make it as powerful as it can be.
Lee has stated that the inspiration for the song was extremely influenced by a conversation she had with a homeless woman. The two chatted about loss and faith and the woman ended up saying the line:
"Don't worry, she is in a better place I promise you. She's somebody's angel now."
From there the singer went home and worked on the song immediately. When in the studio Jacquie recalls, "I remember sitting in the producer David Pramik's studio with all of the lights off crying into the mic. It was a moment where things were starting to sink in and feel real." Kudos for the musician for pouring her soul out into her music because music has the ability to reach and help anybody that connect in any way.
