Interview: Jacob Latimore
Jacob has been building up his career since 2005. Fast-forward to 2011 and you will realize soon realize the great lengths he has taken even at such a young age. Touring across the country, filming movies, and working on his album is an everyday gig for Jacob. Even with his busy schedule he still finds time to get featured on MetroPCS's “Dynamic New Artist” program which is a series that will appear in all MetroPCS stores around the country. Exposure like that doesn't come around too often, and with that being said he has already been compared to the likes of Usher, & Chris Brown. With musical influences running deep in his family's heritage it's no wonder this talented young triple-threat has built up a reputation across the country.
Taking it back a couple years ago you put out a song called "Girl Like Tish" back in 2008'ish. I guess you can say it was a love song dedicated to your mother, but we wanted to ask you.. have you found your girl yet?
No I didn't find her yet! *laugh* Still searching!
Who are some celebrity crushes that you have right now?
I like Amber Rose, Meagan Fox, and that new girl from the Transformers movie.. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley!
You've managed to stay on top of your talents. You were featured as a leading role in the movie "Vanishing on 7th Street". If you were to pick between being an actor, dancer, or singer.. which one would you choose and why?
I probably would do the music. It's my first love! I've always had a passion for music.
What is your all-time favorite movie?
Home Alone 3 is my favorite movie that I still watch till this day.
Since you're experienced in acting would you say that shooting your music videos is relatively easy for you?
I think it's a bit different in their own ways. The music videos are a bit more loose when it comes to character. You can insert some of your own swag into the video and the director wouldn't say anything. However in movies you have to stick to the character and the script.
Which one do you like doing better?
Definitely the music videos. I like dancing and performing.
We were snooping around and found a Youtube video of you while you where at the Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta. Girls were flocking towards you and security had to hold them back behind closed doors.. Do you ever have a normal day?
Yeah I have a normal day! That was actually one of the worst one's yet! Security was not prepared for the crowd. It was fun though..a lot of fun! I want to keep expanding my fan-base that I can't even step outside my house.
It's pretty apparent from the Youtube videos that your fan-base is large! You've already received 2 million video and 1.5 million views in less than a month!
Yea it's growing pretty fast.
Your whole family has been musically inclined and it seems as though your musical inspiration for starting out was your dad. We wanted to know.. if we put you and your dad on a vocal competition right now who do you think would win.. your dad or you?
Oh! Definitely my Dad! I'm always learning stuff from him.. so I'm getting there!
