Here's What To Expect Of Lapalux's 'Cuts Vol. 1' EP
If you've been an advocate for Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder collective, it's likely you're familiar (and an inevitable fan of) Lapalux - producer and multi-instrumentalist stemming from the United Kingdom. If you know Brainfeeder (Flylo, Thundercat, Taylor McFerrin), throwing Lapalux into the equation makes sense. The label is known for their electro-complexities and mind-bending, psychedelic compositions that are quite unlike what most producers are aiming towards. With such a signature sound, the collective is somewhat legendary. Most would be quick to describe Lapalux & his creations as "super chilled out, let's shut off all the lights and melt" music.
Well, that perception is about to change. Making quite an interesting, twisted splash, Lapalux released Cuts Vol 1. this week and it's far from casual. The project has only six tracks that are relatively short, making it holistically a quick listen. Prepare for a wild ride - Cuts is filled with suuuuper dirty bass and a lot of aggression - this project is incredibly club-ready. We sat down to listen and were instantly absorbed in the fantasy of hearing this music live - it needs an amazing sound system to be fully absorbed and appreciated. Press play and you'll know exactly what we mean.
