Hear KIYAN's Anthem as "The Last One" On The Planet
I'm standing here like the last one on the planet / I'm not afraid to light the fire that'll make the walls come down.
Brooklyn-based recording artist KIYAN releases “The Last One,” a track that features his full band, in contrast to the electronic music we’ve seen from him since last summer.
Reminiscent of 90’s R&B at the top, and making its way to certifiable rock, the track is an unusually sensual light for KIYAN’s layers and vocal textures. Written by the singer, and produced by percussionist Joe Amadio, “The Last One” is a "both fresh, and a step backwards", according to the artist.
“I hear a lot of crazy shit when it comes to relationships. I’m not sure what it is. I don’t necessarily see the trend getting any better, either. This song is my way of saying to myself, ‘good for you, knowing what you’re worth and refusing to settle for anything less than magic.’ Especially with the way the internet is like, a store for sex, with more and more people, regardless of sexuality, subscribing to the lifestyle. I think people need to know themselves a little better before they get themselves into positions that aren’t going to help them be happy.”
