Harrison Brome Sings About Things Being Complicated in "Sex Calls"
In case it slipped past you, Harrison Brome has released a new single titled "Sex Calls." This one tells the tale of Brome trying to understand the conscious of someone he has cared about/still cares about. This certain someone that the lyrics are about has trouble feeling emotion at all and doesn't want to get attached to anybody anymore... As a result, they chooses sex and want nothing more than that. Lyrical snippets such as "I know you want to let go" and "you just want to be alone" express the overall tone well.
"Sex Calls" features an orchestral undertone with elegant electro flairs, deep guitar tones and distorted background vocals. It sets up the perfect emotion when combined with his melodies. As for Brome's vocals, you can hear a bit of disappointment in the color and manner of laid back delivery, all the while proving to us that his authentic and natural musicianship can hit the spot no matter what the instrumental atmosphere is. Tell us what you think after listening!
"'Sex Calls' is about the insecurities that can creep into a new relationship after the last one you were in went to shit. All the guy in this story wants to do is feel for this girl. He’s put himself in an emotionally vulnerable position in order to take the relationship to the next level. The girl is scared to feel heartbreak again so she keeps on pushing him away, even though deep down she wants to let go and experience the potential of the relationship in front of her."
