Harleighblu Completes A Creative Journey With 'Futurespective Pt. 3' EP
With an artistic vision that gazes out into the far reaches of music's ever expanding creative horizon, the U.K.'s Harleighblu is in the process of charting a dazzling, genre-defying musical path all her own. Blessed with a intuitively soulful voice that positively smolders with jazzy nonchalance and a sensuous self-possession, Harleighblu's sultry vocal delivery and uninhibited phrasing provide the alluring centerpiece for a sonic sensibility that is equally idiosyncratic in its aural magnetism.
Not one to rest on her well-deserved laurels, over the last year Harleighblu has pushed the boundaries of the acclaimed hip-hop/soul vibe that inhabited her debut 'Forget Me Not' album by embracing the boundlessly intriguing eclecticism of a progressive, electronic-funk-r&b-soul 'future beats' sound. Teaming up with noted producers the likes of SpectraSoul, Lost Midas and Audio Sparks, Harleighblu released the 'Futurespective Pt. 1' and 'Futurespective Pt. 2' EP's last year, and now returns with the last installment of the trilogy ahead of her full ‘Futurespective’ album next month.
With 'Futurespective Pt. 3', Harleighblu again showcases the adroitly diverse conceptualization and brilliantly realized execution of her fearless creative vision. A potent mix of galactically-hued electronic accents, deep grooves and soulfully swaggering vocals, the third EP is a fitting end to the series: the 'are-we-or-aren't-we' attraction of the dreamy keys, punchy percussion and insistent vocal motif of the Jonny Faith produced 'Off On'; the defiant swagger of the funky lick, low-end churn and wobbly shimmer of the J-Felix produced 'Tell Em'; and the intimate piano and oscillating bass hum of 'Reverse's ruminative emotion. Perfectly encapsulating the breath-taking appeal of her boldly articulated artistic vision, the final installment of Harleighblu's 'Futurespective' EP trilogy is another stunning musical marker placed on her ever-evolving journey towards sounds unknown.
