Grace Reminds G-Eazy That 'You Don't Own Me'
Catching our attention last year with the type of talent that saw her be handpicked by manager Efi Obegni (Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Red One, Akon) for future stardom, and go on to work with producer Parker Ighile (Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Conor Maynard), Australian singer, and newly signed RCA Records artist, GRACE, has announced herself on the music scene with a bold, G-Eazy-featured hip-hop infused electro-pop reworking of the Leslie Gore classic, 'You Don't Own Me'. With the confident, maturely soulful edge of her vocals trading verses with G-Eazy as she declares her independence and autonomy, GRACE showcases the charismatic talent that inspired the song's original producer, the legendary Quincy Jones, to personally co-produce the remake with rising producer Parker Ighile.
Raised in a musical family - her grandparents sang with the Gibb Brothers and her brother is rising 300 Entertainment star Conrad - Brisbane raised GRACE was surrounded by influences including Smokey Robinson, Janis Joplin, Shirley Bassey and Amy Winehouse, the resulting raw, soulfully sultry hues of her emotionally nuanced vocal delivery reflecting a maturity that is rarely found in a seventeen-year-old. Newly signed to RCA, GRACE is currently working on her debut EP, which is slated for a spring release.
