Go Go Berlin Boldly Wave Their Rock'n'Roll Flag
There is a musical time and place for everything: sometimes, you want to dance to a shiny pop hook, at others you want to chill out and dissolve into hazy alt/indie synths; and then there are times that you, well, simply want to rock. If you are hankering for the latter, then Go Go Berlin have just the prescription for you.
Drawing on influences that include both 60's/70's blues-rock and more contemporary guitar rockers - The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Strokes and Kings of Leon - this Danish five-piece's charismatic rock and roll swagger will have you rockin' out as lead singer Christian Vium's raspy, raw vocal grit effortlessly animates the kind of fuzzy rock riffs, boldly driving grooves and chiming keys that will instinctively get your blood pumping.
Born out of a jam session that took on a life of its own, the five Danes - Christian Vium, lead vocals, guitar; Mikkel Dyrehave – guitar; Anders Søndergaard – organ; Emil Rothmann – bass; Christoffer Østergaard – drums - have since their 2010 formation gathered both a growing fan base and critical acclaim at home for their 'New Gold' and 'Electric Lives' albums and the uninhibited passion of their live show. Spreading their wings to hit clubs and festival stages across Europe with two big tours this year, and with multiple nominations for this year's GAFFA Awards in Denmark under their belt, Go Go Berlin are well and truly waving a defiant banner for those who love good old fashioned rock and roll.
