EXCLUSIVE Interview: The UK Songstress - V.V. Brown
Your dad is Puerto Rican while your mom is Jamaican. However, you were born and raised in England . How did this come about, and how do you feel it has impacted your musical flavors? My parents fell in love.
To be honest, this combination of culture hasn't affected my musical flavors. However, on the other hand growing up in the UK did impact me.
What sort of music were you exposed to while being raised up? Out of all the songs that are running through your head, which of those songs stands out the most? Pick one song that never seems to get old.
I expose myself to all types of musical influences. It can be rock, rnb, jazz, or reggae. One of the songs that never seems to get old would have to be "Bob Marley - Waiting In Vain".
We keep talking about music, however there's a whole other side of V.V. Brown. What listeners might not know, is that you are actually very involved within the fashion/modeling industry! Is this a new direction that you want to take with your career? or is it something that is looked on as a more of a hobby?
At first I might have seen it as a hobby or a dream of mine. Over time it progressed and it is now a part of my career along with music. I'm sure you'll see more of my face in modeling magazines or advertisements.
We couldn't help but notice your very unique (yet classy!) hair style! Do you manage to dress up your hair everyday? How long does it take?
Haha. That's my signature look! Well, it doesn't take that long to whip up, but I don't usually wear it all the time!
Getting back to your music, you recently debuted your next single off your sophomore album. The debut took place while you were touring with Maroon 5. The single "Sleeping With The Enemy" is said to be moving towards the contemporary "electro" elements of music. Should your fans expect to hear you move away from the retro tracks?
I think electo elements will be more present in the second album but its unknown as Im experimenting.
