EVENT RECAP: Bruno Mars & Nina Sky sell out Bowery Ballroom (New York)
One word -- AMAZING! Hopefully you remember Nina Sky from back in the day when they originally came out with their hit single "Turnin' Me On". Their break-through live performance shocked me into reconsidering the fact that they were even an opening act! I've never seen an opening act this great! Nina Sky performed some of their tracks from their latest EP "The Other Side". You Ain't Got It (Funk That), Beautiful People, & The Other Side are some of the tracks they performed. From taking a look at the crowd's reaction, you can tell that Nina Sky had their complete attention.
However, Bruno Mars and his band quickly stole the show once they made their appearances on stage. The retro-fitted band reminded several people in the crowd about the 60's group "The Temptations". With girls screaming, and flashing camera lights going off every other second, the packed-out venue was in for a big treat! With the his EP, "It's Better If You Don't Understand", already out in stores..Bruno felt it was time to unveil two new exclusive songs -- "Grenades", "Marry Me".
On top of performing at a sold out venue, Bruno announced today that he will be releasing his official debut album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" on October 5 2010. A variety of pre-order options will be offered to fans, with such extras as an exclusive t-shirt and a limited edition screen-printed poster, autographed and hand-numbered by Mars himself. What’s more, Bruno will personally be taking 500 individual photos, to be included in the first 500 pre-orders.
