Emeli Sandé Making Return With "Long Live The Angels"
Long Live The Angels will arrive on November 11th, marking the triumphant return of Emeli Sandé. The singer-songrwriter has flown under the radar as of late since her previous album Our Version of Events in 2012 citing personal struggles.
“Sounds a bit dramatic but I just wanted to disappear. I just had this overwhelming sensation and realization everything had to stop."
During the last four years she dabbled into songwriting for other artists such as Katy Perry and Mary J. Blige but now she's back as the center of attention.
The first single off of the album comes in the form of "Hurts." The song is characterized by a droney ambiences, claps, and vibrating, rhythmic vocalization. Overall, it comes off as entirely anthemic and massive. Seriously, what a perfect way to make a return.
The new album was recorded in LA, NYC, London, and Oxford and will come in a standard version of 15 tracks, as well as a deluxe version with a whopping 18 tracks. The songs will feature everything from choirs and strings to stripped down instrumentation and songs with piano.
