Don't Ever 'Let Go' Of The Stunningly Soulful Javier Rodaro
While prospecting among ever growing mountains of online music, every now and again we unearth a rare gem of a talent. Such was the case earlier in the year when a random click on a YouTube video left us in a state of slack-jawed wonder at the dazzling precocity of Austrian singer-songwriter Javier Rodaro. Not yet twenty, his ability to channel the insightful emotional maturity of his sagacious lyricism through the husky hues and richly expressive soul of his stunning vocal instantly took our breath away. Needing little more than a guitar and his voice, Rodaro quickly proved that he could draw the listener into his articulate navigation of the heart's turbulent travails with the genuinely moving passion and heart-felt sincerity of his wise-beyond-his-years sensibility.
With more than enough talent to go around, Rodaro, as both a solo artist and frontman for the indie/rock band The Westsides, has already begun making his mark on the Austrian music scene; having released his own 'Wide Eyed' solo EP and The Westsides' 'Natural' EP, he also graced the stage at the FM4 Frequency Festival both alone and with the band. Back to remind of the potency of his preternatural talent with rustically framed visuals - 'recorded somewhere in the woods near Salzburg' - for the acoustic intimacy of 'Don't You Let Me Go', Rodaro again mesmerizes with the intuitive wonder and tender sensitivity of his magnetically soulful charisma.
