Dawn Richard touches GoldenHearts at SOBs (NYC)
R&B artist Dawn Richard gave her "Hearts" a performance to remember last night (October 25) at SOB's. "Hearts" is what she refers to her supporters as and the love was definitely in the air. Dawn, looking glamorous wearing a mustard colored jumpsuit with a touch of sexiness showing her back, performed an acoustic version of "Automatic", "86", and new unnamed releases off her upcoming album "Goldenheart". In her 7-inch platform wedges Dawn, danced across the stage, while still showcasing her crisp and clear vocals.
Dawn started the night off with "Call to Hearts" from her first EP Armor On which were followed by "Bombs", "Change", and “Faith”. She also gave fans an exclusive performance of songs off of her upcoming LP GoldenHearts and wowed the audience with songs like “Glow”, an upbeat inspirational dance track. During the performance she explained “This song is dedicated to my Hearts. Don’t let anyone ever dim your light. Not only should you shine but GLOW.” There was a moment where she revisited her Dirty Money days and performed “Ass on The Floor” with a jazz element to the song which seemed to give it a bit of an edge. Dawn’s vocals spread across the packed room of SOB’s with everyone attentive and lingering on to every note. She ended the night with her new single off of GoldenHeart “86”, a song reminiscent of Prince and Cyndi Lauper. GoldenHeart is expected to drop January 15. Look out for our exclusive interview with Dawn Richard coming soon!
