Dark Themes In Highly Suspect's "My Name Is Human" Video
When Highly Suspect was announced to be nominated for Best Rock Song at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards we thought it was absolutely well-deserved. A new video is now here for that song: "My Name Is Human."
The Boy Who Died Wolf was released in November, 2016 and topped the US Top Alternative Albums and reached number 28 on the Billboard 200 chart. "My Name Is Human" was the single for the album and held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. The video, however, features a repetitious panning out style as the story slowly progresses. Stevens and actress Chloe Bridges go through a story in a futuristic scene where Bridges reveals her robotic parts.
Vocalist Johnny Stevens had to say:
“A lot of people think the song is about being a human. I believe some of us aren’t human at all. Or at least not completely, but that is still our name. At some point in the last couple hundred years something changed. The androids, the aliens. . . They aren’t coming. We are here. A molecule can enter our atmosphere and change the entire worlds genetic makeup without anyone taking notice. You think little green men are the aliens? My ‘name’ is human. And Chloe Bridges rules.”
What do you think of the video?
