R&B singer Brandon Hines, who has been laying low for the past couple years after forming a partnership with So So Def and Revel Music Group, has been officially signed to Epic Records and Singersroom hosted his coming out party in the form of their second edition of The Rhythm Effect Tuesday night (May 2) at Drom on the Lower East Side. Surrounded by friends, family, fans, label reps - Jermaine Dupri, Chrisette Michele, L.A. Reid, Aura Harewood, Brooke Jasmyn and Courtney Lowery of Epic Records were among those who attended, fellow artists - Ronnie "Ro" James made an appearance, and blogs like YouKnowIGotSoul and The Gifted Life Brandon was the picture of happiness as he serenaded the packed house with a set list that included "Fire", his contribution to the soundtrack of the number one movie in the country "Think Like A Man".
Singing old favorites ("Pin-Up Girl", "I Think Of You") and debuting new material ("War"), Brandon's interaction with the crowd showcased his outgoing nature - maintaining eye contact with fans as he sang his heart out, it was as if he was attempting to hypnotize every lady in the house and he did a great job of doing so.
His hit single, "Yes You Are" - featured on VEVO's homepage currently - aroused the crowd even more and in the end, no one left Drom disappointed; Brandon was extremely appreciative of the support he'd received through the night and over the years through his development. Singing Epic's praises every chance he got, Brandon promises that the union of himself and the historic record label will produce great things, and with his career under the leadership of heavy hitters like Reid and Dupri we couldn't agree with him more. Congratulations to the Epic Records team for acquiring such a fantastic talent in Brandon Hines!
